To make our 3D printed objects we use two types of materials, rPETG(recycled ethylene glycol polyterephthalate) and PLA (polylactic acid), a bioplastic obtained from corn starch.

r-PETG is a polymer obtained from recycled plastic bottles, for 1 kg of rPETG 79 plastic bottles are recycled. We work in partnership with the Amsterdam-based company Reflow filament which produces this material in the Netherlands. Objects produced in 3D printing with rPETG can be recycled at least 5 to 6 times by following the same process. This is why we chose to work with the materials produced by Reflow, because when possible we want to make objects from recycled and recyclable raw materials..

PLA is a bioplastic obtained from corn starch which makes it a natural alternative to polyethylene. We talk about bioplastics, because PLA is made from natural raw materials, which makes it a recyclable, biodegradable and industrially compostable material. Indeed, the PLA can be recycled to be transformed again into raw material or it can be industrially composted (+ 60 ° C, humid environment and presence of micro-organisms) and decompose into water, CO2 (under aerobic conditions) and by non-toxic products for the environment. This is why we have chosen to work with the materials manufactured by ELOAS, because we want to manufacture objects that can be at least recycled.
